What did the service provider do well?
NSS worked well with our geographically dispersed team and was able to understand our design and technical needs, meet tight deadlines, and communicate well to update, brainstorm, and troubleshoot as needed. The team is very responsive and able to think through multiple solutions aligned to our needs.
Where could the service provider improve?
Everyday communications and project management have been seamless and easy, even across distance and time zones. However, I have noticed that content in the online product could benefit from more careful transfer of content ( sometime there are typos/spelling errors). Overall, the quality of the work and product is high and this has been a minor hassle in a few instances.
How did they handle problems and issues that came up during development?
Communication and problem solving have been strengths of NSS. They have added developers to the project to meet urgent needs and deadlines despite unforeseen challenges or adjusted phasing of the project to address our clients' needs with minimal impact to scope. Understanding of our desired outcomes, model, and client needs has also helped in problem solving, The team maintains a positive can-do attitude and works towards collaborative solutions.

NSS built an online tool web application with a mobile app component. The online system also had functionality via offline kits and provided user-friendly reports for all participants. This home-grown system replaced an existing system that had technical and design constraints limiting its usefulness as a formative assessment system. The system NSS designed and built has more automation and user-friendly components. It allows for more streamlined communication, coordination and collaboration for users and eliminates the need for printable PDFs and emails. The data provided also supports users and allows them to adjust their practice and improve outcomes.

What did the service provider do well?
North South is an excellent digital media development firm. Technically the firm has as complete a range of design and development skills as any top tier firm in the US. They are especially impressive in their reliability, timeliness and communication. Communication is particularly remarkable given their primary physical office location in Lima. This was an initial concern for my company but quickly was forgotten.
Where could the service provider improve?
There are no major issues or areas for improvement. NorthSouth did not have prior experience working in digital music and thus was not knowledgable about digital music industry, technologies and databases matters. We were aware of this limitation and it did not affect the success of the project.
How did they handle problems and issues that came up during development?
NorthSouth has an excellent project management process that utilizes regular communication cycles, including daily check-in. Our project was time sensitive and very complex. We requested a daily check-in for long periods to identify and mitigate any potential problems. This helped ensure an almost problem-free project (MediaNet engaged NorthSouth for 15 months over a dozen projects.

Extremely knowledgeable on technical side; They gave us a very effective design and upgraded the brand delivery of the site. They were great communicators and excellent at staying on schedule (and keeping us from straying from the schedule).

I have no suggestions for improvement. North South was very competent in all aspects of the website design process and competitively priced.

Because they were so organized, we did not really have any issues during development. They outlined a process and held our hand through each deliverable and phase, giving us choices/options when appropriate.
